A list of deputy governors who have been removed from office since 1999 has been revealed.
Over the years, some Deputy Governors have been impeached for political reasons that somehow amount to gross misconduct.
The recent one is the former Edo deputy governor, Philip Shaibu who was impeached by the house of assembly in the state
The lawmakers accused Shaibu of leaking government secrets.
Shaibu and his ex-boss, Governor Godwin Obaseki have been at loggerheads over the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Section 188 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, provides for the removal of governor or Deputy Governor from office through the process of impeachment.
Shaibu became the 17th to be removed from office since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999.

Biodun Olujinmi: Ekiti State

Peremobowei Elebi: Bayelsa state
Jude Agbaso: Imo state
Sunday Onyebuchi: Enugu State
Ali Olanusi: Ondo State
Eze Madumere: Imo State
