The Nigerian Police command headquarters has been destroyed by fire in Sokoto state, burning many offices

The source of the fire incident has not been ascertained, but swift action by firefighters helped prevent further destruction.

The fire, which broke out early on Saturday left significant damage to the command’s administrative department before it was finally controlled.

While the extent of the destruction is yet to be fully assessed, the incident has sparked concerns about the safety and preparedness of essential government institutions.

he Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmed Rufai has confirmed  the incident.

He said: “Yes, there was a fire incident on Saturday at the headquarters of the command in the state.
