Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed what he discussed with the Presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, when he visited him in his Abeokuta residence.

It would be recalled that Tinubu, on Wednesday visited the ex-president at his Penthouse, located within the premises of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, One Mosan, Abeokuta.

Tinubu was accompanied by two former governors of the state, Chief Olusegun Osoba and Otunba Gbenga Daniel, billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, and former interim national chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, among others.

Both Obasanjo and Tinubu refused to address the media after their closed-door meeting.

Obasanjo, while speaking at the inauguration of a 300-man planning committee on the installation of the new Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola, said he told Tinubu that he had added two phrases to Yoruba vocabularies.

He said: “We now have two vocabularies in the Yoruba dictionary, ‘Emilokan’ and ‘Olule’. These two vocabularies are now popularly used”.

“I asked Bola and he laughed. I said whether the vocabularies are good or bad, we have started using them.”

Tinubu, in June, while canvassing for the support of his party members in Abeokuta, Ogun state before the presidential primary election which was held on June 6 and 7 at Eagle Square, Abuja uttered some Yoruba words that have been subjects of debates since then.

The words ‘emi lokan’, ‘eleyi’, and ‘olule’ meaning ‘it’s my turn’, ‘this one’ and ‘beaten down’ respectively were used by the former Lagos governor while speaking with an emotional outburst at the gathering of APC stalwarts which had Governor Dapo Abiodun in attendance.

APC National Leader used ‘emi lokan’ to say it was his turn to become the nation’s president to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari. While speaking about how he had contributed to the political ambitions of some politicians, he called Abiodun ‘eleyi’ saying I made ‘this one’ to become governor too.

Tinubu also said that Buhari contested three times for presidential election but ‘olule’ (he was beaten down) and at the point of making no attempt, he (Tinubu) was the one that approached him when he (Buhari) was crying on national television.
