The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has announced the arrest of 93 suspected internet fraudsters following a massive raid in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital
The EFCC operatives in a raid in the early hours of Sunday, arrested the suspects during a Wet & Rave Splash Extravaganza party held at the OOPL, Rounda fun spot.
A viral video showed how some youths scampered for safety during the night raid.
Confirming the arrest in a statement on its official X account on Sunday, the anti-graft agency said the raid was carried out by operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, following credible intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet crimes.
“ Upon their arrest, 18 vehicles and mobile devices were recovered from them.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded” the statement added.
