Nigerian Varsity Rusticates 34 Medical Students

Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have apprehended 14 suspected internet fraudsters during coordinated raids across various locations in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

They were arrested on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Ikot Akpanabia, Udoudoma, and the Nwaniba areas of Uyo in an intelligence-driven sting operation.

Three of the arrested suspects are undergraduates of the University of Uyo.

Items recovered from them include 26 smartphones, one iPad, three laptops, one wristwatch, and a black Toyota Camry car.

Speaking on the operation, EFCC’s spokesperson Dele Oyewale noted that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
