The Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has unveiled his new wife months after marriage crash with Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi.
The monarch made the announcement in a video posted by Moses Olafare, his Director on Media and Publicity and obtained by DAILY GIST on Wednesday.
DAILY GIST gathered that the name of the new wife is Olori Mariam Anako.
The new wife this time is said to be an oil and gas executive.
This will be Ooni’s fourth official marriage.
Mariam, the new wife is from the Ebira ethnic group in Kogi State. Her parents are based in Ilorin. Mariam lost her dad at a young age and was brought up in the home of the former IGP Mohammed Dikko Abubakar who reigned as the boss of the Nigerian Police between (2012 to 2014). MD Abubakar as he is known, is the in-law of Africa’s wealthiest man—Alhaji Aliko Dangote. The Ooni’s new mother-in-law is a retired police officer.
Mariam Anako works in NestOil and is said to have got contracts from her office to the monarch. This must have endeared her to him.
She is said to have allegedly vowed that Ooni Adeyeye will not marry again after her marriage to him.
It could be recalled how Naomi had announced her divorce from Ooni.
In her statement she said, “Today I announce the beginning of anew dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am amother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slaveto my thoughts of perfection. I, at this moment,announce that I shall no longer be referred to aswife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but asthe Queen of the people and mother of my adorablePrince.”
