A yet- to- be identified operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has committed suicide at his residence in Abuja.
It was gathered that the operative, a member of Course 5 took his life on Monday.
The Spokesperson for the EFCC Mr. Dele Oyewale confirmed the incident to PRNigeria.
He revealed that investigation is going on to find out why the operative described as diligent decided to take his life.
The deceased, a member of Course 5, was described as a diligent, efficient, and unassuming operative.
The Commission is exploring possible factors, including mental health and family challenges, that may have contributed to the operative’s depression and eventual tragic decision.
Sources in the Commission stated that the operative has been having problems with his immediate boss, a woman for sometimes now.
However it’s not clear if this was responsible for the decision of the operative to put an end to his life.
Oyewale said the Commission would not issue any statement or release the operative’s name pending the conclusion of the investigation.
