The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board has on Tuesday speaks about the date for the commencement of 2021 UTME registration.

The board in a post on his Twitter handle noted that no date has been fixed for registration of 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and therefore urged the public to kindly disregard any purported date circulating on social media.

“IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. This is to inform the general public that no date has been fixed for 2021 UTME registration. Kindly disregard any tweet from a fake account that stated otherwise. The general public will be duly informed when the date is fixed. Thank you,” JAMB tweeted.

DAILY GIST understands that the delay in the registration is as a result of COVID-19 break and lockdown in 2020 which forces most tertiary institutions in the country to postpone thier 2020 admission exercise.

JAMB has earlier announced on Sunday that all admissions in the tertiary institutions for the 2020/2021 academic session would end by June 15, 2021.

It was revealed in a statement issued by the spokesperson for JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, which stated that the decision was collectively taken at a virtual meeting with heads of tertiary institutions in the country on Wednesday, February 24 2021.
