Grammy award-winning rapper, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar popularly known as Cardi B, has been sentenced to 15 days community service after she pleaded guilty to an assault.

She was accused of orchestrating an attack against sisters, Jade and Baddie Gi, at Queens’ Angels Gentleman’s Club in 2018.

The rapper appeared at a Queens court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

The deal comes, rather than the prison time she had faced under the original felony charges.

During the incident, police said the rapper was at Angels Strip Club in Queens where she argued with two of the club’s bartenders and a fight broke out thereafter. She had accused one of them of having an affair with her husband.

“The victims allegedly had glass bottles hurled at them, alcoholic drinks thrown in their faces and one woman’s head was slammed into the bar,” prosecutors said earlier in their description of the incident.

In 2019, the rapper pleaded not guilty to felony assault charges relating to the fight. The singer, known for chart-topping hits such as “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It,” was indicted in 2019 by a grand jury on felony charges along with two other individuals in her entourage.

But the rapper in a statement after a court hearing on Thursday said: “Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions. As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instill in my children, but the example starts with me.

“I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to. These moments don’t define me and they are not reflective of who I am now.

“I’m looking forward to moving past this situation with my family and friends and getting back to the things I love the most, the music and my fans,” she said.
