In what is coming as a really sh0cking development, a pastor from Celestial Church in Ile-ife, Osun State, Moris Gbade Fadehan has been killed by one of his church members.
The ugly incident happened on Monday inside the church located at Omitoto area in Ile-Ife,Osun State where the deceased was found in a pull of blood.
The pastor was said to have been stabbed in the neck by his killer.
DAILY GIST gathered that the suspected killer, Lekan Ogundipe was immediately arrested and handed over to the security operatives.
According to reports, tensions had been building between Ogundipe and Fadehan over behavioral issues.
The final straw was an altercation last week between Ogundipe and a prophetess known as Mummy Ewa, who accused him of spreading rumours about their relationship.
Ogundipe had reportedly assaulted the prophetess, prompting Fadehan to reprimand him and announce plans to dismiss him from his role.
On Monday evening, Ogundipe went to the home of the church’s owner, Pa Olafare, and reportedly claimed there was a fire burning Fadehan’s body at the church.
They rushed to the scene to find Fadehan’s lifeless body burnt and bloodied inside the sanctuary.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident
She said the suspect is in Police custody at Iloro divisional police station, Ile-Ife while the investigations continue
According to her, the remains of the deceased has been deposited at the Morgue of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife for autopsy.
She said, “At about 10:15 am on Monday, one Moris Fadehan aged 65 years of Grace of Comfort Oke Odo, Omitoto, Ile-Ife, was killed by one Lekan, who is also a member of the church. Upon arrival, his body was found in a pool of blood. Marks of violence were also discovered on the body of the deceased.
“The suspect was arrested at the scene of the crime. Remains of the deceased were deposited at the OAUTHC morgue for autopsy.”
