Fresh FM, a popular radio station owned by Nigerian gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele has been gutted by fire.
Some staff members took to X (formerly Twitter) to raise urgent alarms, pleading for immediate intervention from the fire service.
One of the station’s staff had posted: “Fresh FM is currently on fire! We urgently need the Fire Service to respond immediately. Please retweet, spread the word and alert the nearest station.”
Another echoed the call, writing: “We urgently need fire service at Fresh FM Ìbàdàn.”
However, a staff member identified as Arojinle confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) that the situation had been resolved.
“It is sorted. Everything is under control now. Thank you, fire services. Thank you to everyone. Thank you God,” he wrote.
Details about the extent of the damage are yet to be revealed, but the quick response from firefighters appears to have prevented the situation from escalating
Yinka Ayefele, who owns the radio station, also known as Music House, took to social media to share a video of the blaze. The footage showed flames raging at the back of the building, rescue operations using ladders, and fire service personnel battling to contain the inferno.
Ayefele captioned the post with a crying emoji, showing the emotional toll of the incident.
