The Bursar of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Dr Victor Imagbe on Thursday has reportedly escaped Abduction by Gunmen suspected to be Kidnappers.
DAILY GIST learnt that the Gunmen stormed his residence on Thursday, at Ogheghe Community, along Benin/Sapele Road, in Benin, the state capital
It was reliably gathered that an operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), identified as Alex Osaghae attached to the private residence of bursar was killed during the attack.
It was not immediately clear how the kidnappers gain entrance into the residence, DAILY GIST gathered further that upon sighting the NSCDC operative, the attackers started shooting sporadically causing a serious tension in the area.
The PRO NSCDC, Edo State Command, Mr. Ogbebor Efosa, confirmed the sad incident.
He added that the corpse of the deceased has been evacuated to the Benin Central Hospital mortuary.
DAILY GIST however could not reach the spokesperson of the university, DR. Benedicta Ehanire as at the time of filling this report.
