The political crisis rocking the Rivers state may soon come to an end following the intervention of President Bola Tinubu

DAILY GIST reports that Tinubu held a closed-door meeting with some major stakeholders from Rivers State led by the Governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, connected to the political crisis which has polarized the state over the past few weeks, has other stakeholders which include a former Governor of the oil-rich state, Peter Odili, and some traditional rulers from the state.

The immediate past Governor of Rivers State and the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who is a major player in the crisis also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Tinubu directed that all impeachment proceedings initiated against Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State by the State House of Assembly should be dropped immediately.
