President Bola Tinubu has ordered Wale Edun, minister of finance, to present the cost implications for a new minimum wage within 48 hours.
Mohammed Idris, minister of information and national orientation stated this while addressing Reporters in Abuja on Tuesday.
He said the president had a meeting with the representatives of the federal government in the negotiation with the labour on the minimum wage.
Earlier, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume stated that President Bola Tinubu is ready to pay above N60,000 as minimum wage for workers.
DAILY GIST reported that the organised Labour, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) had suspended the nationwide strike.
The unions gave the federal government one week to announce new minimum wage for civil servants in the country.
