The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu on Wednesday has emerged as the presidential candidate of the party.
The former Lagos announced as winner of the APC primary elections.
DAILY GIST reported that 2,322 delegates from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) elected the flagbearer of the ruling party for the 2023 presidential election.
Tinubu got the highest votes 1271, his major opponents, the former Governor of Rivers State and the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo secured 316 and 235 votes respectively.
Senate President, Ahmed Lawan got 152 votes while the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello scored 47 votes, Ben Ayade with 37 votes
Recall that seven aspirants had stepped down for Tinubu before the commencement of the primary election.
They who stepped down for Tinubu include, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State; Senator Godswill Akpabio; Professor Ajayi Borroffice; Mr Dimeji Bankole; Senator Ibikunle Amosun; and Mrs Uju Ohanenye and Muhammad Badaru, Jigawa governor.
