Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Thursday have kidnapped a lecturer of Ambrose Alli University, Edo state.
DAILY GIST gathered the abducted lecturer is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the institution.
He was said to have left his house for farm on Thursday but was kidnapped on his way.
The news of the Professor’s abduction reportedly threw the institution into a panic among lecturers and staffs.
According to report, the suspected kidnappers have already contacted the family of the professor and are demanding N18 million ransom.
The Public Relations Officer of the University, Edward Aihevba confirmed the sad development, he however said he has no vivid details of how the incident occurred.
The spokesman of the Edo State Police Command, Kontongs Bello, said he was not aware of the incident as at the time of filling this report
