The mother of Popular yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo better known as Sunday Igboho has been confirmed dead.
Igboho’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, disclosed this via his Twitter handle on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
“I can confirm today Saturday 22nd of July 2023 that Dr. Chief Sunday Adeyemo (aka Sunday Igboho) mother died,” he tweeted.
The details her death however, wasn’t reavealed
Igboho, who has been in exile since 2021 was unable to see his mother before her death and it is not certain if he will be available for her burial.
It could be recalled that the activist was fleeing to Germany when he was arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, following a bloody invasion on his residence by the operatives of Department of States Services, DSS in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Two people were killed during the raid and 12 of his aides were arrested.
Igboho was arrested in Benin Republic while trying to leave the country for Germany.
The activist was subsequently detained in prison and released in March 2022. He however hasn’t returned to Nigeria since his release.
