The Self-acclaimed Yoruba activist and Agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has finally been arrested, DAILY GIST has gathered.
The is coming after the Nigerian government had placed Igboho on stop list, a development the federal government claimed it would facilitate his arrest anywhere he is found.
Until his arrest, Igboho’s whereabout was unknown to the general public since the Department of State Services(DSS) had raided his house in ibadan and declared him wanted.
According to reports, Igboho was nabbed in Cotonou, Benin Republic, in an attempt to flee to Germany to evade arrest by the DSS operatives in Nigeria
Reports said security operatives in the West African country nabbed Igboho, who is expected to be brought back to the country any moment from now.
DAILY GIST could not immediately reach the spokesman of the Department of State Services (DSS), Peter Afunanya to seek more information over the alleged report.
Effort to also speak with Igboho’s media aide, Mr Koiki on the development also proved abortive.
The Buhari-led administration is currently taking serious steps towards stemming down the tides of indiscipline and unpatriotic actions from separationists who are allegedly disturbing the peace the nation.
While Bokoharam, bandits, Fulani terrorists have been operating freely and smoothly in the country on a daily basis, The Buhari government has chosen to focus attack more on agitators and sessionists who are fighting for people’s right over injustice and nepotism.
Recall that DAILY GIST had reported how Ighoho’s house in Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo state was attacked at the wee hours of Thursday
The Department of State Services(DSS) confirmed that its responsible for the attack on Sunday Igboho’s house on Thursday
DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya disclosed this in a statement made available to Journalists.
According to Peter, The raid was based on intelligence that Igboho had allegedly stockpiled arms and ammunition in his house.
But Igboho in a statement released by his media aide, Koiki said the weapons paraded by the DSS as recovered from his house did not belong to him.
Igboho noted that the guns found in his house were ‘government magic stating that he used traditional power to protect himself instead rather than guns.
The activist added that there was no prior invitation sent to him by the agency neither was any search warrant used by the officers who invaded his home.
According to him, the invasion at his house was an attempt by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to silence him so the killer-herdsmen, whom he always antagonized, will take over the South-West region.
