Security operatives comprising Nigerian army and Police Force have arrested over 500 armed political thugs at Ita Awure/Efon area of Osun state at the wee hours of Wednesday.
The armed thugs who were arrested at about 3a.m on Wednesday were reportedly heading to Ekiti, to disrupt the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries election, slated for today.
It was gathered that the thugs were mobilised from Oyo State to prevent emergence of a certain candidate for the 2022 governorship election.
The thugs were caught with guns, machetes, charms and others.
During the stop and search by the joint security forces, the alleged PMS members were caught with dangerous weapons like guns, machetes, charms and many other armful objects.
It was gathered that one of the armed thugs was shot dead by the security forces.
