Just hours after a divorce notice surfaced on social media, Queen Silekunola Naomi has reportedly received gifts from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has bought a new car as a Christmas gift for the Prophetess, Queen Silekunola Naomi.
Mr. Moses Olafare, the Spokesperson for Ooni of Ife, confirmed the development to DAILY GIST on Friday evening when contacted.
Olafare disclosed that Queen Naomi received the car after the divorce notice surfaced on social media.
He said the messages of divorce posted by the Queen on her social media handle was not known to the palace.
According to him, Ooni of Ife, who was participating in a three-day music program tagged, ‘Memorable Moments With Music’ at the Muson Centre, Lagos State, was not aware of any misunderstandings with his wife before he left the palace.
He added that the monarch was still in love with the Queen on the morning she announced the separation on social media.
He confirmed that the monarch was simply looking forward to returning home to his family only to see the reported separation on social media.
In his words, He said: “Marriage is a private affair between two spouses and the marriage will come with an agreement between the two and if the marriage is to be dissolved it will also come upon the agreement between the two, so to that effect, the palace is not aware of the separation between the Queen and Ooni of Ife because even Kabiyesi only saw it on social media like everybody.
“A night before yesterday when everyone went to bed there was no indication to warrant the reported separation of the marriage, in fact, that previous day was when Kabiyesi brought a brand new car to serve as a Christmas gift to the queen so if u are planning to separate with your wife tomorrow why will you buy a car for her today.
“And so it became a surprise to everyone including Kabiyesi when we saw what was reported on social media. The palace is unaware of this because there are traditional procedures to follow.
“I can confirm that there are no issues at all to warrant that, at least as at two days ago there was no indication at all, the car was delivered to her yesterday after she has written that thing she wrote. As I speak to you that car has been delivered to her. Everybody is still surprised and we remain surprised. Well, we are watching.”
DAILY GIST reports that Queen Naomi in a statement on Thursday announced her divorce from the monarch.
Naomi stated that she is no longer a slave to her thoughts of perfection.
She noted that her decision to move on was due to irreconcilable differences and not based on the decision of the monarch to marry another queen.
She added her marriage to the monarch was not an arranged one and debunked the rumours of her having a daughter before the boy, Tadenikawo, which she welcomed with the Ooni of Ife.
However reacting on the development, Ooni through his spokesman, Moses Olafare, said the alleged divorce is a rumour, asking the public to disregard the claim.
He said: “This is not the first time such rumours had been peddled. There was a time it was reported that she left the palace and the next thing, she gave birth. So, the story is not true and it should not be taken seriously.”
He disclosed that it was not aware of any separation between Queen Naomi and the monarch.
The palace said something that is announced by one party without any agreement can not be said to be separation.
“Separation is a two-way affair. It is not something that is announced by one party. The announcements of separation are subject to agreement by both parties, so, to that extent.
He noted that as of Wednesday evening, Ogunwusi and Naomi went to bed as husband and wife.
According to him, probe will be launched into whether or not Instagram page of Naomi was hacked.
