President Bola Tinubu on Monday has renamed the University of Abuja, UNIABUJA
The institution is now to be known as Yakubu Gowon University, DAILY GIST reports
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris stated this while addressing Newsmen at the state house on Monday.
He spoke at the end of a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
The renaming is in honour of Nigeria’s former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, who recently celebrated his 90th birthday.
Idris stated that the proposal will be forwarded to the National Assembly for formal approval.
