Operatives of Lagos Police Command have arrested popular Nigerian hip hop artist, Panshak Zamani better known as Ice Prince Zamani.
The musician was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
It was gathered that at about 3a.m on Friday, the musician was flagged down by police officers for driving without a license plate.
Ice Prince who initially agreed to be taken to the station immediately, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him, and threatened to throw him in the lagoon.
The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday morning
He said the musician, who rose to fame after releasing “Oleku”, one of Nigeria’s most remixed songs of all time, was arrested for alleged abduction of police officer and for threatening to dump him in a river.
According to Hundeyin , a superintendent of police, “At 3am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station.”
“He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
