Operatives of the Nigerian police have opened fire on a group of aggrieved residents protesting the fuel and naira notes scarcity rocking the country.
In a video obtained by DAILY GIST on Tuesday, police van drove roughly through the area and police officers shot into the air as the protesters scampered for their lives.
The protesters attributed their actions to the frustrations being faced in the banks and filling stations.
Several shops have been deserted while the policemen forcefully dispersed the protesters.
DAILY GIST reports that similar protests have taken place in Edo, Oyo and Ondo states
