Operatives of the Nigerian police have arrested Popular Nigerian Singer, Naira Marley over the death of late Afrobeat artiste, Mohbad
The public relation officer of the Lagos police command, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday night.
Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities,”he said.
Mohbad died in Lagos at the age of 27. However, the cause of his death remains controversial leading to call for justice from concerned Nigerians.
Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry were accused of having hands in the death of Mohbad following video evidences of rentless bullying and harrasment on the late singer.
The duo have since denied the allegations.
DAILY GIST gathered that Naira Marley returned to the country on Tuesday and was consequently grilled by the police for interrogation.

Naira Marley also confirmed his return to the country in a statement on Tuesday evening.
He said: ‘I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole.
I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.”
