Philip Shaibu, the impeached Deputy Governor of Edo State has been reinstated.
A federal high Court in Abuja returned Shaibu as the Deputy governor on Wednesday.
The court has also directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to immediately restore his security details.
The Edo state House of Assembly impeached Shaibu in April ending a long-drawn drama between him and Governor Godwin Obaseki.
DAILY GIST recalls that Shaibu was removed following the adoption of the report of a seven-man committee set up by the chief judge of Edo State Justice Daniel Okungbowa to investigate allegations of misconduct against the deputy governor.
Eighteen out of 19 members present at plenary voted for the impeachment of Shaibu while one abstained from the head count and voting process.
