Barely 24 hours after taking in a new bride into the palace, the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has concluded plans to take another bride as a second wife.
DAILY GIST had earlier reported that the monarch unveiled his new wife, Mariam Anako some months after marriage crash with Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi.
This will be Ooni’s fourth official marriage.
Mariam, the new wife is from the Ebira ethnic group in Kogi State. Her parents are based in Ilorin. Mariam lost her dad at a young age and was brought up in the home of the former IGP Mohammed Dikko Abubakar who reigned as the boss of the Nigerian Police between (2012 to 2014).
Mariam Anako works in NestOil and is said to have got contracts from her office to the monarch. This must have endeared her to him.
However in a new development, DAILY GIST was informed on Thursday that a team of Chiefs from the Palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Wednesday, visited the family of another bride-to-be, Dr. Elizabeth Opeoluwa Akinmuda, in Magodo area of Lagos.
According to sources close to the palace, Miss Akinmuda is a Scotland-based Electronic Data Processor and a native of Ondo City in Ondo State.
It could be recalled how Naomi had announced her divorce from the monarch.
In her statement she said, “Today I announce the beginning of anew dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am amother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slaveto my thoughts of perfection.
“I, at this moment,announce that I shall no longer be referred to aswife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but asthe Queen of the people and mother of my adorablePrince.”
