Senator Iyiola Omisore, National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday has been shut out of the emergency National Working Committee (NWC) meeting of the ruling party.
The meeting is currently ongoing at the National Secretariat of the ruling party in Abuja.
Omisore reportedly arrived the secretariat to join other NWC members in the meeting but was denied entry.
The APC national scribe left the party secretariat without speaking to reporters who were already stationed at the entrance of the building.
Present at the meeting includes Kyari, Deputy National Chairman (South) now acting chairman, Emma Enukwu, National Vice Chairman (North West) Salihu Lukman, and National Vice Chairman (North East) Salihu Mustapha.
Others are National Vice Chairman (North Central), Muazu Bawa; National Vice Chairman(South West), Isaac Kekemeke; National Vice Chairman (South East), Ejoroma Arodiogu and the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter.
Security around the national secretariat has been beefed up, with those driving into the compound and the street properly screened and questioned by security operatives.
DAILY GIST reported that the embattled National Chairman of the party, Adamu had announced his resignation from his position.
Subsequently, the National Secretary of the party, Iyiola Omisore was reported to have also tendered his resignation aftermath.
Omisore who was among the early callers at the meeting left the party secretariat without speaking with the media.
The meeting is the first since the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as national chairman of the party.
Adamu, one of the ex-president, Muhammadu Buhari’s allies has been facing numerous battles since the party won the presidential election on February 25, 2023.
