The Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff Ibrahim attahiru is dead
Reports said a military plane carrying the Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, to Kaduna has crashed.
It was gathered that there were at least 11 other unidentified officers in the training plane, which crashed about 6pm today at Kaduna Airport.
Reports added that there was no survivor in the crash.
The plane reportedly crashed at the runway, while trying to land, amid heavy rainfall.
Attahiru death is coming exactly 115 days after he was appointed as Nigeria’s Chief of Army staff.
The spokesperson of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, confirmed the incident involving a Nigerian Air Force plane but did not reveal identities of those on board.
It was however gathered that the Chief of Army Staff was in the aircraft along with his wife and six other senior military officers.
The NAF spokesman added that, “the immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained.
