Voters in Kuje Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, were left stranded in the early hours of Saturday following the delay in distribution of voting materials due to corps members protesting the non-payment of their training materials.

Although the corps members finally yielded to the appeals by the official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and desperate voters, they however finally departed the distribution area by exactly 9.30am, over an hour 30 minutes behind schedule.

Some of the angry corps members were seen still complaining that only the payment of tneir allowances could pacify them to report to their polling units.

INEC official who spoke to journalists said that they deliberately delayed the payment until they report to their polling units, arguing that some of them may disappear after paying them the training allowances.
