MTN Nigeria has announced the closure of all its offices nationwide
The telecom company stated this in a statement obtained by DAILY GIST on Tuesday morning.
It consequently directed its workers to stay at home.
“Please be informed that our shops nationwide will be closed today, 30th July”
However, it said its social media handles, mobile app and call centres are available to attend to subscribers’ concerns.
“We are available 24/7 to support you via our digital channel”it added
The reason for the closure is not clear.
On Monday, a mob vandalized a section of mobile telephone network operator, MTN, property in Festac Town, Lagos.
Their actions, according to reports, were triggered after the network provider blocked their SIM cards yesterday.
In a video obtained by DAILY GIST, customers of MTN were seen protesting to register their displeasure over their SIM blockade.
A handful of youths were then spotted vandalizing a section of the MTN office in Festac Town.
Similar incidents were reported across other states in the country.
