The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Princess Mojisola Meranda, has vehemently denied her alleged resignation.
The Speaker who denied rumours suggesting that she has resigned said, she is presently in her office doing her job as the Speaker of the House.
Speaking through, her Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, the Speaker said, “I’m in the office. The speaker is in the office. I don’t know where that is coming from,” Ajiboye said.
“It is a lie from the pit of hell. There is no truth in the story. I am doing my work as the CPS, the Speaker is her office as we speak and everybody is talking about his or her business. We do not know where the story is coming from. The Speaker has not resigned and there is no plan for that.
A circular dated February 17, 2025, allegedly released by Meranda had also been trending for two days, with the content claiming she had resigned.
However, checks on the letter circulating on social media showed it wasn’t signed by anyone.

The Lagos State parliament has been embroiled in controversies since the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa.
Obasa, who was removed for alleged abuse of office and corruption, has since dragged the state lawmakers challenging his removal as the Speaker of the Assembly.
