President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that his administration will deal with bandits terrorizing northern part of the country
According to Buhari, bandits and criminal elements in the country would be arrested, given “big publicity” and eventually jailed.
The president disclosed this during an exclusive interview with Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) on Friday
Buhari said it was imperative that those perpetrating evil and unrest across the country be treated ruthlessly for destroying public facilities and killing security personnel, amongst other criminal acts.
Reaffirming his promise to teach bandits and their likes in the language they understand, Buhari said, “What I mean is, how will you go to police stations to kill the police there, loot their arm and burn the place, what do you want to achieve?
“You go and open prison and allow criminals that have been tried through the legal system escape into the society. How can government sit aside and allow that to be perpetrated?
“I hope to arrest them, try them, give them big publicity and then jail them so that people will know that if they misbehave, they will not get away with it”.
