There is currently a palpable tension in the town of il-Ife, Osun state on Friday as communal clash between indigenes of Modakeke and Ife is currently going on..
The cause of the clash could not be immediately ascertained but according to reports made available to DAILY GIST, at least five people have been killed in the attack while several others have sustained serious injuries
Residents of the town were also seen scampering for safety.
The Osun state police command confirmed the incident to DAILY GIST on Friday
Reacting to the alleged clash, Osun police spokesperson SP Yemisi Opalola, said some people were killed and the Commissioner of Police, Mr Olawale Olokode has deployed security operatives to the scene to restore peace in the area.
