Some unknown gunmen in the late hour of Saturday have reportedly abducted two travellers at Wasinmi area, along Ife-Ibadan expressway in Osun State.
DAILY GIST gathered that the victims were heading toward Ikire area before the incident occurred.
Sources revealed that immediately after the incident happened, police operatives at a checkpoint close to the scene of the crime engaged the abductors in an exchange of gunfire.
But the abductors were said to have escaped through the bush with two people.
Confirming the report, Osun police command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola said police have been deployed to the scene of the incident.
She also revealed that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping while police have intensified the search for the abducted victims
