Some yet-to-be-identified gunmen have reportedly attacked a police checkpoint on Thursday in Enugu.
Although, DAILY GIST could not immediately ascertained the actual number of casualties, it was gathered two police officers on duty and many others were said to have been feared killed.
According to reports, the incident occurred at Gariki, MTD area in Enugu South Local Government area of the state.
As at the time of filling this report, eyewitness said sporadic shootings were still renting the air as residents are running helter-skelter for safety.
In a text message forwarded to Reporters an eyewitness said: “there is shooting at Gariki, MTD area and that two policemen and some other persons have been killed.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, could not be immediately reached for comment on the incident.
