Some unknown Gunmen in the wee hours of Thursday have attacked the residence of Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo populaly known as Sunday Igboho at soka, ibadan area of Oyo state
Two people have been reportedly killed while many people have been whisked away by the attackers
DAILY GIST on Thursday was told the incident occurred around 1a.m in the midnight
It was also alleged that some persons in the house including a close ally of Igboho identified as ‘Lady K’, were whisked away.
Igboho’s spokesperson, Mr Olayomi Koiki, confirmed the attack in a statement made available to DAILY GIST few minutes ago
Koiki said; ”Chief Sunday Igboho house was attack around 1:30am this morning 2 people where killed and bodies taking away. So many people have been taking to Unknown location. More details coming soon olayomi koiki chief Sunday Igboho spokesman.”
He alleged that some men adorning military uniforms carried out the attack
I can confirm that those who came are definitely Nigerian soldiers. There are more than 100 soldiers that came,” Koiki said.
He added, “The situation is very active as more security operatives in about seven Nigerian Army patrol vans have arrived.”
However, the spokesman said, “He (Sunday Igboho) is currently safe.”
It was observed Igboho’s vehicles, including his G-wagon, Prado Jeep, some valuable properties including furniture, and windows were destroyed.
Bullet holes were found in cars parked in the premises while blood stains were seen at the premises.
It was learnt Igboho was not at home during the attack while some alleged he ‘mysteriously’ disappeared.
The Oyo state police command has not reacted to the incident as at the time of filling this report.
