Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the wee hours of Friday have again stormed Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic in Zaria, Kaduna State and kidnapped students and Lecturers.

While shooting sporadically, One has been reportedly killed among the students during attack

DAILY GIST reliably gathered that the abducted lecturers are Mrs Habila Nasai from General Studies Department and Mr Adamu Shehu Shika from Accounting Department.

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan confirmed the incident to Newsmen on Friday.

Aruwan noted that eight students and two lecturers were kidnapped.

He confirmed that one of the students who was shot died on the spot.

One of the students, who escaped death, said:

“It happened around 11 pm yesterday. We heard the gunshots but did not know what happened in the school because we were behind the school’s compound.”

According to him, “As of this morning, (Friday), we got information that two academic staff were abducted; one Mr Habila Nasai and Mallam Adamu Shika.

“Also, the wife and two children of Mallam Ahmed Abdullahi were kidnapped but later released this morning.

Gunmen have been attacking innocent people in Kaduna State, targeting students in most of their recent attacks.

Some months ago, Gunmen attacked the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization Afaka in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.

Barely few weeks after, Many students were also abducted at Greenfield University in Chikun local government area of the state.

Students abducted from the Salihu Tanko Islamic School in Tegina, Niger State, are still in captivity.

While two mothers lost their lives as a result of the incident, a three-year-old victim died in the hands of her captors.

The latest abduction ​happened hours after President Muhammadu Buhari had make an empty threats, saying those disturbing the peace of the country will be crushed.

In an exclusive interview with ARISE TV, the president asked Nigerians to expect improvement in security.

Despite repeated assurances from government and security agencies, insecurity has been on the rise across the country.
