Gunmen suspected to be Fulani terrorists have attacked Abaa, a community near the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso
At least two persons were said to have been abducted in the attack.
According to LAUTECH SUG, a female worker identified as Rachael Opadele, a final year student of LAUTECH is one of the victims abducted.
The Students’ union called for intervention of federal government, state government and security personal to beef up security measures around the school campus and saved Racheal.
Some LAUTECH workers and students were said to be living in the community located off the Ogbomoso-Ilorin Expressway.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the community which is located in the Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State at the wee hours of Friday and whisked away their victims, a hotelier, and his worker.

A resident of the community who spoke on the incident said the attackers were gunmen suspected to Fulani terrorists.
According to reports, residents were told to remain vigilant and stay indoors after the incident.

Our hearts are grieved by the unending sorrow bequeathing our fellow students by the criminals (rapists, thieves, looters, kidnappers, and murderers) by unknown gunmen that have grown wings and spread across the country otherwise known as “Bandits”. It is obvious now that ruthless kidnapping and abduction is assuming not only endemic shape but also becoming a burgeoning lucrative and money-spinning venture with many invisible profiteers.”
“It saddens our heart that Opadele Rachael Abiola, a final year student of Fine and Applied Arts with Matric Number: 170886 reported to have been abducted in the early hours of July 29th, 2022 in a hotel at Aaba, a community close to LAUTECH. Racheal was said to be working at the hotel due to the ASUU strike that has kept all Nigerian students outside the school. What a shame on our Federal Government led by President Muhammed Buhari who has failed us. The Federal Government has failed us in our education system as well as our security is no more guaranteed.”
How much longer should we continue to bow to the wanton sacrilege meted out by these marauding villains called kidnappers? The Presidency has to bring forth the most effective and lasting solutions to these societal ills before the situation degenerates into an intractable phase. DAILY GIST gathered that the community head, Chief John Adepoju has called a meeting of residents of the community where they would discuss the next step to take.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, is yet to react to the incident.
But the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Alao, confirmed the incident to Journalists.
He said he had got in touch with the police and the police assured him that an investigation had commenced into it.
