Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS have besieged office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
DSS officers reportedly demanded to see the directors of the organization upon thier arrival.
The rights group in a post via its X page on Monday condemn the invasion, calling on President Tinubu to intervene.
The post reads“Officers from Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, asking to see our directors.”
“President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation, and attack on the rights of Nigerians.”
This latest incident comes after arrest of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Joe Ajaero by the DSS operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Ajaero was about to board a flight to the United Kingdom for an official assignment when he was apprehended.
