The Nigerian Soldiers have engaged gunmen suspected to be bandits in gun-duel along Kaduna-Zaria road in the early hours of Wednesday.
The gunbattle, it was gathered unsettled the road following a sustained gunfire.
Despite the area being sandwiched between Jaji Military Cantonment and Airforce Base, the daring terrorists launched an attack.
According to reports, the attack occurred around 1am, and the gunmen reportedly operated for about 4 hours.
A Human Rights activist Muhammed-Bello Buhari, said his cousins had to hide inside the wardrobe and under the beds.
For fear of being attacked or kidnapped, nobody performed Subhi (dawn) prayers in the mosques.
It is not yet clear if there are casualties or kidnap victims, but multiple reports said that soldiers confronted the bandits.
Wednesday’s attack followed the killing of least 10 soldiers by the terrorists who attacked a military base in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Monday.
Many of the bandits are believed to comprise mostly ethnic Fulanis, including pastoralists and mercenaries from the region as well as neighbouring Chad and the Niger Republic.
