The prime suspect in the gruesome murder of 22-year-old Bus Rapid Transit passenger, Oluwabamise Ayanwole, Andrew Nice would be arraigned today at the Yaba Magistrate Court.

Counsel for the family of the deceased, Ayo Ademiluyi, made this known in a statement on Friday

He urged interested persons to make it to court where the arraignment would commence by 12 noon.

DAILY GIST reported that the driver, a prime suspect in Bamise’s death was arrested on Monday according to a release by Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu.

A video of BRT bus driver, Andrew Nice allegedly confessing after being arrested by security operatives had surfaced.

In the video obtained by DAILY GIST, he confessed to have committed many dirty acts on Bamise.

He further revealed that he abandoned the late fashion designer and zoomed off.

Ayanwole got missing while returning to Ota, an Ogun State community that shares border with Lagos, from Ajah area of Lagos on Saturday, when she boarded a BRT bus with number 240257 going to Oshodi at about 7 p.m. at Chevron Bus-Stop.

Perhaps having a premonition that something bad was about to happen, the late fashion designer recorded herself on Saturday while on the bus and sent it to someone close to her.

She captured the bus number and the driver’s head in the video but instructed the person not to make the video public yet in case nothing bad eventually happens so those close to her won’t use her ‘fears’ to mock her.

While in the bus, Bamise felt uncomfortable as it did not pick any other passenger at subsequent bus stops. She quickly contacted a friend and expressed her worry.

Using whatsapp voice notes, Bamise revealed that the bus driver made an overture at her saying that he ‘liked’ her and asked for her name and other details.

She told her friend to pray for her. She also sent a short video to her friend stating that there were 3 men and one woman in the bus.

Inspite of all the precautions, the young lady was eventually murdered and her lifeless body found on the roadside

Her killing has caused outrage on social media, with many wondering the audacity of committing crime inside a state-regulated vehicle.
