A strong ally of Ex-Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, Razak Salinsile has turned down the position of Board Chairman of the Osun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) given to him by Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke
This development came a week after Governor Adeleke announced the appointment of various board chairmen and vice chairmen in the state.
Salinsile, a member of the defence The Osun Progressives, TOP, was announced as the Chairman TESCOM.
In a statement obtained, the governor’s spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, explained said, “Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has approved the appointment of chairmen and vice chairmen of non-statutory boards in the state. The appointments take immediate effect.”
However, Salinsile was notably absent from the swearing-in ceremony for the board chairmen and deputies held at the Governor’s office in Abere, Osun state
When questioned about his absence, Salinsile in noted that that he had turned down the appointment for personal reasons, stating, “I declined it for personal reasons.”
“I am telling you now that I declined the board chairman to which I was appointed by Governor Ademola Adeleke for personal reasons” he said
In light of Salinsile’s refusal, the Governor announced another person, Tope Adeyemi, as the TESCOM chairman.
Salinsile served as the secretary for the Osun State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and was known for supporting Aregbesola against the re-election of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, the APC’s candidate in the 2022 election.
