The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reportedly resigned from his position in what is coming as a surprising development.
Ganduje, a former Governor of Kano State, cited health reasons for his decision, stating that he needs to focus on his well-being.
According to a post on X by a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad on Friday, Ganduje’s resignation is with immediate effect.
Ahmad wrote: “The National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has resigned from his position, effective immediately, as confirmed by multiple sources.”
Ganduje’s resignation marks a significant shift in the APC’s leadership ahead of 2027 general elections.
