Operatives of Amotekun in Oyo have engaged some kidnappers suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in gun duel at the late hours of Friday.
DAILY GIST on Saturday was told the incident happened at Iwere-Ile, in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State.
It was gathered that the Fulani herdsmen had planned to kidnap some residents of the area before the failed operation.
An eyewitness told DAILY GIST on Saturday that the Amotekun operatives engaged the herdsmen in a gun battle, killing two, while the remaining three members of the gang escaped with bullet wounds.
DAILY GIST gathered that security operatives including the Nigeria Police later stormed the scene to return nolmacy in the area.
As at the time of filling this report, DAILY GIST is yet to receive any reaction from the public relation officer of police command in Oyo on the incident.
