Popular Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face has announced divorce from wife, Annie Idibia.
2face took to his social media page to share a statement, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
The now-deleted post revealed that the couple had been separated for a while and were currently filing for divorce.
It expressed 2Baba’s intention to share his side of the story, stating that he wants his fans to know the truth about his situation.
“Hello to my beautiful people of all FEDERATIONS,” the post reads.
Annie first met 2face Idibia at Even Ezra Music Studio when she was just fifteen.
They were friends first but had started dating officially by the time they shot the “African Queen” video in 2004.
“W”ELL THIS THING I HAVE TO SAY IS SHORT BUT ALSO LONG…. I AND ANNIE MACAULAY HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FOR A WHILE NOW. AND CURRENTLY FILED DIVORCE… I WOULD GRANT A PRESS RELEASE SOON TO SAY MY STORY.
“NOT BECAUSE IT IS ANYONE’S RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE; BUT BECAUSE I LOVE MY PEOPLE AND I NEED THEM TO KNOW MY INNOCENCE OR OFFENSE. STAY BLESSED MY PEOPLE. I LOVE YOU.”
Minutes after the post was deleted, 2Baba claimed that his Instagram account was hacked.
“My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control #onelove!” Idibia wrote in another post.
However, the singer has made a u-turn, confirming his divorce from Annie in a short video clip
“Nobody hack my account, na me talk wetin I talk”he said.
