Rep members on Tuesday have elected Tajudeen Abbas as the Speaker of the house for the 10th National Assembly.
The immediate past Majority leader of the House, Doguwa nominated Abbas for the position of Speaker of the House on Tuesday.
Abbas contested against two other aspirants, Ahmed Wase and Sani Jaji.
Recall that two of the major speakership aspirants, Aliyu Betara and Yusuf Gagdi had both stepped down for Abbas, the preferred candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
DAILY GIST reported that President Bola Tinubu and the National Working Committee (NWC) of APC had endorsed Abbas as the anointed candidate.
