Gunmen suspected to be Bandits have set on fire, a Catholic Church Parish in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
A seminarian Stephen Danlami was said to have been burnt to death in the attack on Thursday night.
Police command in Kaduna confirmed the incident in a statement by its spokesperson, ASP Manir Hassan on Friday.
According to him, the bandits who arrive in droves had invaded the church, but could not gain access to the building. They thereafter set the house, a vehicle and a motorcycle parked on the premises ablaze, Kaduna Police spokesperson, ASP Manir Hassan, said.
The Police spokesperson said Danlami died from the smoke he inhaled while trying to escape from the raging fire, but two other priests inside the parish house were able to escape.
He said the police command has launched an investigation into the attack to bring the perpetrators to justice.
