1. Account Payable Accountant
Job Description
The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable cycle. This includes verifying and processing invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, reconciling statements, and maintaining proper documentation. In an airline environment, this role ensures all operational vendors including fuel suppliers, maintenance providers, and airport authorities-are paid accurately and in accordance with contractual terms.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional Qualification in Accounting e.g, ACA, ACCA is a must.
Experience:
Minimum 3-4 years of accounts payable experience (aviation or transport industry preferred).
Familiarity with aviation-specific payables (fuel, maintenance, airport fees) is a plus
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Tally, or similar).
Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliation templates).
Good communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal departments.
2. Financial Accountant
The Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the company’s financial records through accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of financial transactions. This role plays a key part in the month-end closing process, statutory compliance, audit preparation, and financial reporting. In United Nigeria Airline setting, the Financial Accountant ensures all financial records reflect complex aviation operations such as revenue from ticket sales, aircraft leases, fuel costs, and foreign currency transactions.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
ACA, ACCA, or equivalent certification.
Experience:
4-6 years of relevant accounting experience (aviation industry experience preferred).
Strong understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles
Skills:
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Tally, or similar).
Strong Excel skills (financial modeling, reconciliations).
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
