Apply Now To The Fully Funded Enel Foundation Open Africa Power 2025

The Open Africa Power program’s 2025 call for applications has been announced by the Enel Foundation in partnership with Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL). Since its launch in 2018, this program has played a significant role in giving young African professionals the all-encompassing technical, business, and regulatory know-how required to propel the African continent’s energy-efficient future. Nearly 500 alumni will participate in a range of leadership and professional development activities in collaboration with prestigious universities in Italy and Africa as part of the 2025 program, which aims to include up to 80 participants with at least 50% female representation.

Structure of the Program

Prominent academic institutions like the University of Cape Town Graduate Institute of Business, African College of Regulation, Politecnico di Torino, Politecnico di Milano, and SDA Bocconi are facilitating the online and residential modules of the Open Africa Power 2025 program.

African Digital Module: Cutting Edge

This 24-hour online module explores the foundations of the global power industry through the prism of environmentally friendly development goals and is scheduled throughout early June and mid-July 2025. The program, which was presented in association with the African School of Regulatory and the University of Cape Town, addresses:
  • ICT and digitalization in the electrical sector
  • Network information technology, regulation, and economics
  • Renewable fuel technology, legislation, and economics
A final exercise in the form of a virtual multiple-choice test will need to be finished by participants.

Online Course with an External Partner

This course gives participants a thorough grasp of creating suitable legislative and regulatory frameworks to guarantee sustainable energy access for everyone. It starts in early June and ends around mid-October 2025. The course, which is taught by an approved outside partner, requires students to complete a country project either alone or in groups. Depending on their performance and involvement during the course, participants may be awarded a Certificate of Participation, Completion, or Excellence upon completion.

Module Italian: New Horizons

There are two separate learning experiences in this module:
  • Domestic Week in Italy: Participants will take part in a week-long domestic program in Italy in the second half of 2025. This includes site visits to advanced power plants, research and instructional laboratories, and control panels. Delegates are going to speak with educational partners, academic lawmakers, and executives from the business, government, and charitable sectors, debating the clean energy prospects of the African continent.
  • Eight-Week Online Training: From mid-October to the beginning of December 2025, Italian educational affiliates will give lectures on important subjects like climate change and renewable energy potential, ICT applications in network administration, additive manufacturing, economic and ecological consequences of accounting, decision-making under uncertainty, and important forces behind the energy transition.

Return Module

Alumni may be asked to take part in teaching events and endeavors associated with the Enel Foundation’s educational projects in Africa and abroad after finishing the Italian module.

Qualifications

Candidates need to fulfill the following requirements:
  • By April 14, 2025, be between the ages of 24 and 35.
  • Nationality of an African country.
  • Current resident in an African country or intended to move to Africa by the finish of 2025.
  • Qualification for trips to Italy; aspirants should examine the necessary processes in advance.
  • Completion by April 16, 2025, with a PhD, MBA, or Master’s degree (MSc, LLM, MPP, etc.). An African university must award at least one degree. Those who have been accepted in a Master’s program, have only a Bachelor’s degree, or are undergraduate students are not eligible.
  • demonstrated proficiency and a desire to work in the governmental or private power sector.
  • English proficiency at the CEFR C1 level, as evidenced by a language-related certificate or by earning a degree that was taught solely in English.
  • dedication to advancing women’s empowerment and gender equality both inside and beyond the framework of the program.

Procedure for Applications

The verification code (OAPF6792) must be used to submit applications only through the designated platform. To ensure the best platform stability and dependability, candidates are advised to use Google Chrome on a desktop computer. Among the necessary documents are:
