The Osun state government has been call upon to rescue a pensioner, Mr Oyedepo Olatunde Nathaniel who is currently battling with his health condition.

In our status as an advocator for the plight of Pensioners, the family of a blind Pensioner Mr Oyedepo Olatunde Nathaniel brought the sad story of their breadwinner to our correspondent.

DAILY GIST learnt that Mr Oyedepo retired from the teaching service in 1988. His last place of duty was Seventh Day Adventist Primary School, Inisa, Odo Otin Local Government.

Statutorily, aged pensioners who have retired since a long time ago are occasionally placed on 142% pension pay rise. This Man in question has lost his sights and has been blind since shortly after his retirement, a predicament that has cause deterioration to his health and also a drain to his fortune. All efforts medically and otherwise to make him regain his sights has been unsuccessful.

This victim was sometimes, recently ago, approached that his name was among the beneficiaries of the 142% pension pay rise due to his category. All other colleagues of his has been paid their entitlements ranging from #300,000 to #400,000 but Mr Oyedepo for reasons best known to the administrators of the fund has been excused from payment.

He was with at his designated Treasury Cash Office in Irepodun LG with the aid of his Children but all appeals were rebuffed and it is suspected that his dividends may have been ungodly intercepted due to his health condition with the assumption that he can not fight for himself.

His TCO’s name in charge of the payment at Irepodun LG in Ilobu is Mr Dapo with the phone number 09021137969. The State’s TCO Officer at Abeere is Mr Komolafe with the phone number 08034988492.

A normal pensioner needs all the help let alone a visibly impaired aged pensioner. This is thus making this appeal for the Osun state Government to intervene in ensuring that Mr Oyedepo’s entitlement was not converted. Those who have got their fair share of the fund are no Osun native more than this man. Whomever you have the strength to help is your neighbor, help him well.
